Ronald, Eimund and Cassie have been on an exciting trip this August 14-28th to both Kenya and South Sudan. Here are some of the highlights from the trip!

Ronald’s father has a missions organization called Mission 10/40 and though this organisation he has been doing a lot of mission work in both Kenya and South Sudan (and they also lived in Kenya when Ronald was small). Because of this we got good connections both places and where able to work together with some really good people.

Geoffery (Bishop of East African Pentecostal Churches) and his wife Anne were our hosts in Kenya, and Geoffrey even travelled with us to Juba. A good friend of Eimund and Cassie’s also joined us in Kenya, Stig Ove Gisnås from Mo i Rana, Norway.

Him, his wife Linda and 3 children have established a missions base on the coast of Kenya, Kilifi and have lived there for 2 years. (Stig and Linda ministries) We are so grateful that Stig Ove came and hung out with us, took incredible pictures, and helped us spread the gospel!
We went first to Kiritiri, a small town 2 hours outside of Nairobi where we had training for evangelists and leaders for some of the churches in that area. There were about 40 that attended.

One of the highlight from these meetings was one evening when Ronald had preached on the baptism of the Holy Spirit. Afterwards, we invited anyone up that had not already been filled with the Holy Spirit before, and there were many kids that came up, followed by more adults. It was so beautiful to see so many kids and adults encountering God in such a powerful way.

During this time there was a demon that began to manifest in a young lady, and after some prayer, was set totally free! Her mother testified that she was back to her normal self, and when we saw her the day after, she looked like a different person!

Another highlight was going on the streets to tell people the good news of Jesus in Kiritiri. This is a place where there are very many people using drugs and just hanging around. Eimund and Ronald did some open air preaching on the streets, and the rest of us talked to people one on one.

Cassie got to share the gospel with some kids, and at least 3 of them ended up giving their lives to Jesus! She also meet a teen later who gave his life to Jesus and was filled with the Holy Spirit. The change in his face was amazing!
Both Eimund and Stig Ove met men who repented of doing drugs and spat them out! One of these men asked Jesus to be Lord of his life.

On the picture to the right you can see Stig standing with some of the drugs that the people they had talked to had given them since they now wanted to stop using drugs.

The last Sunday in Kenya some of us also went to a church in the bush. We preached and saw at least 4 people give their lives to Jesus and be filled with the spirit. So beautiful!

SOUTH SUDAN
After some days in Kenya we flew to Juba, and was met by our amazing contact, Fermo Ogilla, at the airport. He works for an organization called Every Home for Christ who is a cross denominational organisation who works with evangelism.

He has earlier been a bishop in the Pentecostal Church in South Sudan, so he knows everyone! Our first task in South Sudan was to teach a group of eager evangelist about how to preach the Gospel. Ronald and Geoffery had done this a year ago, so we first had a meeting with the people who had been to the seminars before.

There we heard many testimonies of how they had used the teaching during the past year. There were so many testimonies, that they had to be limited, but we heard of lame walking, deaf hearing, and a family that was heavily into witchcraft being delivered and healed!!

There were 70 people in these seminars, and they were so hungry for more of God, it was so easy to teach and equip them. We had three days of teaching and Geoffrey, Ronald and me (Cassie) was taking turns when it came to teaching.

Two of the days, they had planned to have open air meetings in a huge soccer field, and all of the people from the seminars joined us there. There was a choir and musicians that gathered people when they played, so when Eimund got up to preach, there was a crowd of about 300 people listening, and the next day around 500.

When the altar call was given, there were at least 100 who came forward the first night, and around 300 the second night! These people gave their lives to Jesus for the first time and it was so touching to see them come!

After that, we prayed for the sick and there were so many who were healed! We’ll just share a few stories that we are sure about, and wait for some people to check back with their doctors to be sure. We love medically verified testimonies!!

  • There was a man who came on crutches and left walking
  • A man who had arthritis who we watched on stage go from not being able to open up his hand, to moving it normally.
  • An old lady whose hearing improved, and went from only seeing things close up, to being able to see things far away as well!
  • There was also a lady that had a bloated stomach because of a worm, and testified that the swelling went down.
  • A lady told that she had suffered from sleeping problems and lack of energy, and the following day she had slept better and had more energy than her daughter!

There were many more testimonies! We are so thankful and blown away by the love of Jesus and the power of the gospel! On Sunday we split up to 3 different churches and preached and ministered in 4 services.

One of Fermo’s disciples works as a director of operations for South Sudan’s national television, and he filmed the entire crusade and took pictures. He also interviewed Eimund afterward and has already finished editing a 10 minute film about the crusade and the gospel that will be aired on National television!!
This is what we get when we pray for reaching the entire nation with the gospel!! We are so honored that Jesus uses us when we say yes, and leave with our hearts full and thankful. I think that all of us have gotten a bigger heart for reaching the unreached, and have been witnesses that the power in the simple gospel is enough!!
