When you are a missionary there are challenges that you would not have if you chose a more "A4" kind of life. However, with God the blessings are always much bigger than the challenges. To see lives changed by the power of the Gospel and people growing in their faith is a reward in itself. To experience God's guidance and provision builds more faith than 100 hours of teaching could ever do. The last month here in Poland has been a good and busy month where we have experienced God's guidance and goodness. An interesting experience This last month I had quite an interesting experience. As me and Kasia were leaving the church after a Sunday meeting, a couple stopped us. We started to talk and they said they recognized me from a video with Torben. They told me they had not been saved for so long and that they did not belong to any particular church. After getting saved, they got in contact with another Norwegian who is working with house churches in Poland. So now they had started to weekly gather friends in their apartment. This was very interesting, so I asked where they lived - and guess what! They live only with a 10-minute-walk from where we live! I find it amazing how God can be doing things right outside your doorstep that you don't even know about. We might think nothing is happening, but God is usually up to more than we know. Now I will be meeting weekly with them to train and encourage them to keep up the good work they're already doing. A new training program As I mentioned in my last newsblog, we have lately been using quite a bit of time on a new weekend Bible school. We want to start this fall, so there have been quite a bit of preparations to do. The goal of this school is to equip more believers to operate in the gifts of the Spirit in their daily lives. So the focus of the school is not theological training, but rather learning to naturally live a supernatural life. Many believe that Europeans don't want anything to do with God, but that is not true. Maybe they don't want anything to do with church or religious liturgy, but that does not mean that they are not interested in God. ![]() The problem is not that they don't want to hear the Gospel - the problem is that most of them have never truly heard the Gospel. We have now launched the website for the school and people have already started to apply. If you would like to see the website you can go to: www.szkolaantiochia.pl New Encounter meetings
Right after the new year started I was a little unsure about what to do with the Encounter meetings. Since the team had shrunk, in some way I felt it would be too much for me. But at the same time more and more people came and insisted on starting these meetings again. So after some time of prayer and a prophetic confirmation we decided to start up again in April and will be having them weekly until the summerbreak. Since we also had to move the international meetings to Sunday we have very packed Sundays now. First the church service at 10am, then the international meeting at 3pm and finally the Encounter meeting at 7pm. Even though this means that Sunday is quite packed, I still think it is quite a good solution because now we at least have some Saturdays that are completely free. Thank you for prayer We are thankful for everyone that is praying and supporting the work we are doing. David says in the book of Psalms that if God is not building the house the workers are working in vain - and that is true. Not everyone is able to travel to another country to do mission, but there is a part for everyone to play. Some need to send the workers out, others need to support and pray, and some need to go. This is how the body of Christ functions. There are different tasks and each and every one of us has our part to play. When we join together, our strength is multiplying and we can see the impossible become possible. Not because of one man’s strength, but because of the power released when we join together. So let us do that and see Europe brought back to God.
