Exciting from the start
In August the entire team, us included, arrived in Mo i Rana, and on August 27th the church officially welcomed Andreas and Tonje Fjellvang as pastors of Familiakirka. ( middle)
The team consists of 8 people that simply love Jesus and want to see Mo impacted by the love of God, both in the church and in the community in many different ways. We all have committed to serve under Andreas and Tonje in Familiekirka for two years.
People are open
Each of us on the team has gotten a normal job and are committed to sowing into and blessing the city. We work at clothing stores, kindergardens, restaurants, a cafe, and a school. Many of us have already seen healings happen at our workplace when we have prayed for our co-workers. We have also experienced that since this is an unreached area in many ways that people haven't been exposed to religion. This makes most people very open for Jesus, and most of them are really positive for prayer and the supernatural....
We have seen many people getting healed every week and experience that there is a breakthrough for healing here. Here are some short testimonies!
During our first weeks in August I ran in forest by our neighbourhood, and while I was running, I got a thought that I was going to meet a couple at the parking lot and that one of them had knee pain. I saw them when I came to the parking lot and asked if one of the had pain in their knee. The women said that she did and that she also had headache and pain in here shoulders! I said nothing about prayer or that I am a Christian, but just asked her to give me her hand. She did, and I just held it for a few seconds and then asked her how she was feeling. She immediately looked shocked and said that her headache and shoulder pain disappeared, and she could also feel Gods presence all over here. While I was holding her hand, her husband said that he had some heart problems that affected his breathing. I ended up holding their both hands, and he could immediately feel that his heart was beating in a more normal way. And after this I got to explain that this was Jesus and that He longs to have a relationship with them.
This is just one of many testimonies of what God has done through me during these months, and we experience that good rumours of what happening are being spread. Another time a lady that I had prayed for previously came by my store just to find me and get my number because she had told her friends about me and they wanted me to pray for them as well.
We´ve been here 2 and a half months now, and there has been a lot going on in every part of our lives. Here is a really long sentence to try to sum it up.
tried to not be super sad because we miss our friends, family and church in Bergen very much, built new beautiful friendships with people that we have moved up here with,
met and are getting to know wonderful people in the church,
started new jobs( I currently work at a cafe and at a middle school, Eimund works at Gsport),
learned how to live in a collective again,
gotten a heart for Mo and the people living here,
gotten expectation for how God is going to bless this city,
adjusted to living with less rain + less daylight,
gotten a new life with a car (!!!!!)
Because so much of our life is new, much of what we are doing is building, building relationships with people, and building culture in the church and planning evangelistic outreaches that haven´t happened yet. The testimonies that I can share are going to be general just because I don't want to expose any of my new friends. What I can say is that God is in the business of blessing us with good places to work, and I´m pretty sure that we are a blessing to those who work with us. God is also in the business of healing and drawing people to him by his kindness, and he has already done some of that through us. It is so very fun to see people get healed by a God they don´t even believe in! His love and grace is so big, and because of that, and because He is faithful, I know that even greater things will happen here.
Now, I get to go prepare teaching for a class of 10th graders. Getting that job was such an answer to prayer and I really love it a lot more than I thought I would.
World Championship in Road Biking
The 18-22nd of September we went down to Bergen to be apart of an Evangelistic outreach during the World Championship for Road Biking in Bergen. We arranged this outreach with some friends from different churches that came together during these days. Because of this sports event Bergen was filled with many tourists and spectators, so our focus was to share Jesus with so many as possible. We had evangelism twice everyday and we saw many healings happen and had many good talks with people.
